The Savior taught about future events:


The references I give will be coming from Joseph Smith-Matthew in the Pearl of Great Price.


It was interesting to learn this definition: ‘The term elect refers to “those who love God with all their hearts and live lives that are pleasing to Him” (Guide to the Scriptures, “Elect”; scriptures.lds.org).’



Destruction of the temple in Jerusalem (JS-M 1:5-20)
The second coming of Jesus Christ (JS-M 1:21-55)
Events to occur
·      False prophets deceiving many (vs. 5,9)
·      Iniquity will abound (vs. 10)
·      Great tribulation on the Jews (vs. 19)

·      False prophets, rumors of wars (vs. 23)
·      The elect will be gathered (vs. 27)
·      famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places (vs. 29)
·      the love of men shall wax cold- iniquity will abound (vs. 30)
·      Gospel shall be preached in all the world, for a witness unto all nations then the destruction of the wicked will come (vs. 31)
·      sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (vs. 33)
·      after this happens they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory (vs. 36)
·       
Promises to the righteous
·      If you remain steadfast you will be saved (vs. 11)
·      All this must happen but the end is not yet (vs. 23)
·      The Savior will come from the East (vs. 26)
·      he that shall not be overcome, the same shall be saved. (vs. 30)
·      whoso treasureth up my word, shall not be deceived (vs. 37)
·      Therefore be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh. (vs. 48)
