Peter 1–4. The Trial of Our Faith Is More Precious than Gold
It can sometimes be challenging to endure so many tribulations. However, it is important to remember that trials and tribulations are given to help prepare us for salvation. God gives us trials because he loves us. Trials are given to help us learn, grow, and rely more on the Savior.

The Savior suffered even while having no sins. We are taught to be like Christ and that entails “suffering” through our trials. We are also taught the Lord listens to the prayers of the righteous, “…the Lord [is] open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil” (1 Peter 3:12). We are also taught to stand up for our beliefs. Although it may be tiring to constantly protect your beliefs and struggle through trials, it is necessary to become more like Christ. Also think about this verse in 1 Peter, “But rejoice inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy” (4:13).
So to have the type of attitude that “life isn’t fair” is not following the advice in this verse. We are to rejoice, I do not think we have to always be happy through trials but we can have a great hope knowing the Lord is on our side. We also learn we should not be ashamed of suffering like Christ did; “Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf” (1 Peter 4:16).
